PLACED Partnership Academies – NOW RECRUITING

As part of our original PLACED Academy offer, we’ve expanded to include our PLACED Alumni and new PLACED Partnership Academies.

PLACED Partnership Academies range from three days to six months. Partnership Academies are funded and delivered with a dedicated Partner and sponsor, and focus on targeted areas or projects across the Northwest. We recruit for programmes throughout the year when funding becomes available. You can read more here.

We’re currently recruiting for 2 new Partnership Academies, read more about them below:

Partnering with Regenda Homes, M&Y and The Learning Foundry in Liverpool and Wirral

Generously funded by M&Y, with support from Regenda Homes and The Learning Foundry, this programme for 14-18 year olds consists of 10 design workshops, delivered in school holidays between February and July 2024 .

Participants from the two areas will come together to explore the differences and similarities about the areas in which they live, and what they would like to change. Sessions will be creative and fun, with activities looking at how we can design new spaces, buildings and streets that are safe and welcoming for a wide range of people. We’ll be covering everything from skills in drawing, modelling, designing, and presenting, to working in teams to solve problems and share ideas.

This programme is being delivered in conjunction with two of Regenda’s major housing developments in Liverpool and Wirral, as part of M&Y’s commitments to people living in these areas as the main contractor.

This Academy is only open to young people aged 14-18 who currently live in Wirral or Liverpool. However, if oversubscribed, we will prioritise applications from New Ferry and surrounds, and around postcodes L7, L8 and L15. There are 15 places for each area.

Interested? Please apply here before midnight on Friday 19th January. If you have any questions please email kim@placed.org.uk

Partnering with Stockport MDC, Social Value Portal, ECF & Partners in Stockport

In February 2024 we’ll be working with young people aged 14-18 who live in Stockport to understand what they would like the future of Stockport to be. Delivered during the February half term, the three day programme is completely free to access.

Participants will take part in a series of creative and fun activities to explore their priorities and challenges, and develop designs for what they would improve through the upcoming investment in Stockport. We’ll be covering skills in drawing, modelling, designing and presenting, along with meeting professionals in the built environment.

The ideas developed over the programme will shape decisions about the future of Stockport, and where investment should be focused.

Interested? Please apply here before midnight on Friday 19th January. If you have any questions please email kim@placed.org.uk.
