Regeneration Brainery – Immersive Learning For Young People
In 2017 and 2018, PLACED worked with Capital & Centric to develop and deliver the Regeneration Brainery, a pioneering programme for 16 – 21 year olds.
Backed by Homes England, Regeneration Brainery encourages young people into careers in property and regeneration.
The Regeneration Brainery mixed immersive learning with mentoring from leading industry figures.
We co-delivered the first Regeneration Brainery in Manchester and Birmingham, developing a unique programme and activities. ‘Brainees’ visited live projects and made valuable connections, and delivered a hands-on project – a response to the exciting vision for Mayfield, Manchester – an area rich in industrial heritage and future potential. The project was supported by successful professionals from Greater Manchester, giving Brainees a taste of what it’s like to work as an architect, designer, planner or engineer.
Our PLACED Ambassadors supported activities and were on hand to provide inspiration and advice about future careers.
As a result of us developing the programme, Capital&Centric has been able to deliver the Regeneration Brainery programme itself, across other cities in 2019.
