Beth Houston, Ambassador
Beth is a Graduate Landscape Architect who has also worked as an Art and Design teacher, in High Schools and in Further Education. She is interested in strategies that increase localised access to green space to reduce social isolation and disconnectedness. Through diverse use of landscapes she believes we can provide rich and varied experiences that connect and educate, learning from the land and from one another. Beth feels we need to strengthen the narrative we have with the outdoors and its fragile ecologies and that much of the damage done to the environment is from a lack of understanding. By working collaboratively with communities she feels we can increase productive interactions and playful engagement with nature. To her, meaningful change requires a cultural awareness and understanding.
