In August, Project Coordinator Kim was invited by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram to attend the Liverpool Strategic Futures Advisory Panel workshop.
The panel is chaired by Steve Rotheram and supported by Baroness Judith Blake and Sir Howard Bernstein, working with a range of people to create a long-term plan for the future of Liverpool. A plan which would strengthen the skills, jobs and opportunities for the city and its people.
The workshop included lots of community representatives across Liverpool who work with communities on a daily basis, so have an understanding and knowledge of the existing issues and barriers they currently face. We focused on how we could strategise and fix these issues, allowing everyone access to good quality jobs, healthcare, opportunities etc.
We looked at making regeneration successful, health inequalities, education access and options, placemaking in neighbourhoods and sustainable and affordable transport amongst other topics. All the information we provided will do good to contribute to the final report and help to put policies in place to help Liverpool thrive as a city.
A big thank you to the Mayor for inviting us along to represent all the communities we’ve worked with across our time.
